Flower farming is beautiful — and it is also fast-paced, physical work requiring reliability and teamwork. We are a busy, high-volume specialty flower farm with a tight-knit team where everyone contributes to the season’s success. You’ll learn a tremendous amount about flowers, farming systems, and seasonal production alongside people who value competence, collaboration, and good humor.

Harvest Supervisor

Seasonal Position (April-November)— Rockrose Farm | Victoria, BC

This role is suited to an experienced farm or floral professional who enjoys fast-paced physical work, strong systems, and helping lead a capable, collaborative farm team. The position offers a pathway into farm leadership and crop management for someone interested in developing long-term agricultural skills.​ We intend this to be an annually returning seasonal role, providing consistent work each growing season with a built-in winter break aligned with the rhythm of farm life.

Our farm grows over 100 varieties of specialty cut flowers for wholesale florists, designers, retail customers, and markets. Harvest is the operational heartbeat of the farm — this role helps ensure flowers move efficiently from field to customer with consistency, quality, and care.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily flower harvests alongside the farm team

  • Learn and manage harvest systems tied to customer orders and crop readiness

  • Identify, select, and harvest a wide range of specialty flower varieties

  • Maintain harvest quality standards and consistency

  • Organize workflow from field harvest through processing and storage

  • Track quantities, varieties, and harvest timing accurately

  • Support team efficiency during high-volume periods

  • Work closely with the Farm Management to support efficient harvest flow and system refinement.

Ideal
Candidate

  • Previous agricultural and/or floral industry experience required (both is a strong asset)

  • Interested in returning for future seasons and growing within a long-term seasonal role

  • Learns quickly and can retain large amounts of detailed information

  • Physically strong and comfortable with repetitive outdoor work in varied weather

  • Highly organized and self-managed

  • Comfortable receiving and integrating feedback — there are many details to master

  • Works efficiently without sacrificing quality

  • Calm under pressure during busy harvest windows

  • Must have reliable transportation to the farm

Position
Details

  • Seasonal position: April–November

  • Early morning shifts required: ex. 7 am - 2 pm

  • Training phase: ~12 hours/week

  • Peak season (July–November): up to 32 hours/week

  • Wage: $22–$26/hour depending on experience

  • Wage increase possible following successful training period

Floral Harvester

Seasonal Position (April-October)— Rockrose Farm | Victoria, BC


This is an excellent opportunity for students or early-career agricultural workers eager to build hands-on experience in flower farming, harvest operations, and high-volume specialty crop production.


As a small farm team, we share responsibility across many areas of daily work. The core of this role centers on harvesting and processing flowers during peak season — working closely with the Harvest Supervisor and Farm Managers to move product efficiently from field to cooler.


By season’s end, our team will harvest and process over 150,000 stems, making this a physically intensive, detail-focused position suited to someone who enjoys working with their hands and being part of a collaborative crew.

Responsibilities

  • Harvest flowers alongside the farm team during peak production

  • Process stems for storage and sale (hydrating, stripping foliage, bunching, grading)

  • Maintain quality standards and careful handling of specialty blooms

  • Support daily farm operations including planting, weeding, bed prep, and general farm tasks

  • Keep workspaces organized, clean, and efficient

  • Learn crop handling procedures for a wide range of flower varieties

Ideal
Candidate

  • Entry-level welcome; agricultural, landscaping, or farming experience is a strong asset

  • Physically strong and comfortable with repetitive outdoor work

  • Learns quickly and works efficiently

  • Able to retain detailed instructions and apply feedback

  • Self-organized and reliable

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment

  • Must have reliable transportation to the farm

Position

  • Wage: $18–$20/hour depending on experience and speed

Maintenance Lead

Year round sub-contractor — Rockrose Farm | Victoria, BC


We are looking to bring on a Maintenance Lead to join our core team and help steward and maintain two active farm spaces year-round. The ideal candidate notices what needs doing and takes initiative to keep the farm functioning well week to week.


This role focuses on the ongoing care, upkeep, and functionality of the farm — supporting the systems that keep daily production running smoothly. It is well suited to someone who enjoys physical outdoor work, values well-maintained spaces, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team. This role is for someone seeking consistent, year-round part-time outdoor work.

Responsibilities

  • Weekly farm maintenance

  • Mowing, trimming, mulching, and general grounds care

  • Weeding and compost management

  • Fence repairs and basic infrastructure upkeep

  • Light construction and small building projects

  • Equipment organization and seasonal setup tasks

  • Irrigation setup and maintenance

  • Supporting general farm operations as needed including seasonal efforts like bed setup and dahlia digging

Ideal
Candidate

  • Experience in landscaping, agriculture, trades, or hands-on outdoor work strongly preferred

  • Comfortable identifying maintenance needs and taking initiative to address them

  • Physically strong and comfortable with repetitive outdoor labour

  • Learns quickly and works efficiently

  • Able to follow detailed instructions and integrate feedback

  • Highly organized, reliable, and proactive

  • Comfortable working independently as well as with a team

  • Must have reliable transportation to the farm

Position

  • Year round position: 1-2 days/week

  • Wage: $22-$26/hour depending on experience
