Cultivating Community through Art, Food and Flowers
The Rockrose Farm Story
At Rockrose Farm, everything we do is rooted in a deep sense of home. We are a boutique flower farm and design studio dedicated to creating fresh, seasonal blooms, lasting dried arrangements, and meaningful connections through flowers.
Our story began with Ariel Rubin’s childhood on a small Gulf Island, where she was raised by industrious parents who valued community, environmental stewardship, and self-sufficiency. After years working in creative industries—including music, photography, design, and technology (with a brief stint as a cowgirl!)—Ariel returned to Vancouver Island in 2021 with her husband Steve, their two kids, Sam and Rosie, and their menagerie of animals to make the dream of Rockrose Farm a reality.
Today, our small but mighty team of hardworking humans shares a common goal: to bring people home with our flowers. Whether it’s home to loved ones, to yourself, to the season, or to the land, we create florals that celebrate nature’s beauty and honor its rhythms. We grow using regenerative techniques, inspired by leaders like Charles Dowding and Indigenous land teachings, to nurture the soil and the ecosystem that sustains us.
Our work goes beyond flowers. We host workshops, offer plants and seeds, and run a thriving wholesale business to meet the demand for locally grown blooms in the event industry. Sustainability is a guiding principle for us—we see it as a journey rather than a destination. We’re always exploring ways to improve how we farm, source materials, and reduce our reliance on imported goods.
The farm is also a gathering place for family and community. Ariel’s mom, Kate, has been instrumental in shaping the vision of Rockrose Farm, while her bonus dad, Paddy, brings his craftsmanship to the land. Whenever possible, we turn the farm into “party central” for community gatherings, workshops, and even the occasional weenie roast.
At Rockrose Farm, we believe in fostering connection, creating beauty, and sharing the magic of nature—one season, one bloom, one moment at a time.
